  • Information you choose to supply in the free text box within the contact form about why you are contacting Scott about counselling
  • Your preferred contact method, from the options provided: email, text, or phone
  • How you found this website from the options provided: Augmentative, BACP, Counselling Directory, Psychology Today, Google, Other

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information is: We have a legitimate interest.

If you choose to use our contact form, we collect the information you supplied so that we can contact you, to reply to your enquiry, using your preferred method, where you've chosen to specify it.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored. We will keep the details you supply via the contact form, for up to one month, while we answer any questions you might have about our service, or to arrange an introductory counselling session. Otherwise, if after contacting us that you do not want to begin with counselling, we will delete your information as soon as it is practical to do so. If you do decide to begin with counselling then we will separately seek your consent to retain this information, for the purpose of contacting you during counselling and within GDPR requirements.

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances. 
  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
